Japan Airlines (JAL) Flight 1628 was a Boeing 747 cargo plane flying from Iceland to Tokyo. While the aircraft was flying over Alaska, Captain Kenju Terauchi suddenly spotted two mysterious square-shaped lights appearing on the left side of the plane.

Shortly after, an even larger craft—bigger than an aircraft carrier—appeared in front of the cargo plane. The captain described the object’s shape as resembling a “Russian nesting doll,” with numerous rotating structures inside. The FAA’s Anchorage radar station confirmed receiving a massive radar return. The incident lasted 50 minutes.

The FAA later released an official report but did not reach a final conclusion. Captain Terauchi’s detailed drawings and the FAA radar records make this case highly compelling.
