In the early hours of September 19, 1976, an extremely bright unidentified object appeared over Tehran, Iran. The Iranian Air Force ordered two F-4 Phantom II fighter jets to scramble for interception.

First F-4:

• Approaching to 30 nautical miles, all communication and navigation systems failed
• The pilot turned back, and the systems immediately returned to normal

Second F-4:

• Approached again, the missile system locked onto the UFO
• Just as it was about to launch an AIM-9 Sidewinder missile, all weapon systems suddenly lost power
• At the same time, the UFO released a smaller luminous object that flew at high speed directly toward the fighter jet
• The pilot executed an emergency evasive maneuver, and the small object circled back to the main UFO
• The main UFO instantly departed at an untrackable speed
